The Florida Department of Business and Professional Regulation’s Division of Hotels and Restaurants recently released a list of food service establishments with no safety or sanitation violations within the past year.

A total of 33 state establishments were featured on the list. Among those are six Lee County establishments, including five in the greater Fort Myers Beach area. They are: Chillers of Fort Myers Beach at 1190 Estero Blvd (last inspected: 05/02/2012); Gulf Seafood at 17637 San Carlos Blvd. (last inspected: 05/01/2012); Pinchers Crab Shack at 18100 San Carlos Blvd. (last inspected: 04/30/2012); Taco Bell at 11290 Smmerlin Square Blvd. (last inspected: 04/30/2012); and Top Dog at 6101 Estero Blvd. (last inspected 05/01/2012). K&T Cantina at 11902 Bonita Beach Rd. (last inspected: 4/27/2012) was the other Lee County establishment.

These specific businesses have shown a pattern of complying with sanitation and safety standards outlined in the Federal Food and Drug Administration’s Food Code.

Other establishments on the most recent list include seven restaurants in Dade County, four restaurants in Palm Beach County, three restaurants in Escambia County and two restaurants each in Collier, Lake and Leon counties.

During their latest inspections and within the past year, Division of Hotels and Restaurants inspectors did not find any sanitation or safety violations in these establishments. Although inspection reports only offer a snapshot of the conditions at the time, the Department is recognizing the results as outstanding. The agency regularly features zero-violation inspection results for establishments across the state.

The Division of Hotels and Restaurants works to protect the health and safety of the public by providing the industry with quality inspections and fair regulation. The Division’s main priority is to ensure that food is stored safely, prepared safely and served safely so Floridians and guests can enjoy it safely.
