We are officially rounding the corner for The Cottage's upcoming, fifth annual, all-out Fat Tuesday celebration, this year benefitting yet another great and local cause. Don't forget to sport your best purple, green and gold gear Tuesday, Feb. 21, from 2 p.m. to 1 a.m., as the gulf-front hot spot (1250 Estero Blvd.) hosts its annual Mardi Gras fund-raiser to benefit the American Cancer Society.
During the all-day festival-style benefit, expect some of the best live music around, along with great raffles, games, Cajun food and drink specials.
"So many of us have been affected by cancer in one way or another if you have ever gone through it or watched a loved one go through it, then you know it is one of the toughest battles for a person to face," said Roxanne Jakaitis, bar manager of The Cottage Bar and Grill. "The American Cancer Society is the largest source of private, non-for-profit cancer research funds in the U.S. The fight against cancer isn't just a health issue it's a public issue as well. The American Cancer Society walk is the following weekend, so we're hoping this will be the best fund-raiser yet!"
The Cottage’s annual Fat Tuesday benefit will be taking place Feb. 21, benefitting the local chapter of the American Cancer Society. Enjoy live music all day long from famed local artists, including Steve Farst, the Drunk Monkeys, Headcount, the New Vinyls, Soapbox and more. Don’t forget to wear your purple, green and gold! Folks at The Cottage and Gulfshore Grill are asking for local support to help make this one of the greatest fund-raisers it's ever held.
"Please help us spread the word and join us for the party. We would greatly appreciate any raffle prizes/donations that you could give," Roxanne said. "Please feel free to give your donations to our employees who are out and about working tirelessly to make this the best benefit ever."
You can also drop donations and prizes off at the 1250 Estero Blvd. location.
