Co-sponsored by the Sierra Club Calusa Group and the Happehatchee Center, the festival will involve local art, food, music, children’s activities, free kayak rides and environmental presentations. There will be live music throughout the event – featuring a solar-powered stage – on the green. A drum circle is open to the public from 4 to 6:30 p.m.
Event organizers ask you to “think globally and act locally.” Bring chairs or blankets. Food will be sold by the Lions Club of Estero and South Fort Myers (hot dogs, organic free range beef barbecue) and For Goodness Sake (organic veggie wraps, turkey wraps and drinks) and Ben and Jerry’s Ice Cream (desserts).
Many items are to be raffled, such as a poster down by Southwest Florida photographer Clyde Butcher. Raffle tickets are available at the Sierra Club table.
The festival is free with a $10 parking charge per carload. It is being billed as a fun day of fun and learning for the entire family.

l Camp Bow Wow will be doing children’s education about how to care of their animals!
l Creative kids activities by Anthony Dunnford, mini trampolines and more
l Sea shell arts and crafts by Wash A shore creations
l Corkscrew Swamp Sanctuary will have a booth with lots of interesting things for kids, such as an aquarium with baby gators!
l Shy Wolf Sanctuary will be there with wolves, talking about the Wolf dogs.
l A nature walk will be hosted by Koreshan State Park
l Community art canvas by Tricia Fay.
l Kowiachobee animal preserve will be there with Jade their African Leopard. They will be doing education about animals for the kids.
