“This is a great way for Corvette owners to show off their cars, as well as car lovers to come and enjoy viewing them,” said Corvette Jerry, organizer of the monthly event, as well as avid Corvette owner and enthusiast. “We’ll have a couple of great Corvette car clubs at the show, as well as individual entries.”
There is no entry to peruse the show, and Corvette owners are encouraged to bring their own babies (cars, that is) to be a part of the experience.
“All those who enter in our show, free of charge of course, are given a $5 off coupon (per couple) to use in our restaurant,” said Justin Hall, general manager of Parrot Key. “That’s the perfect time to enjoy our Dungeness crab special, which is roughly two pounds for just $34.95.”
During each show, Corvettes will be judged upon, with a chance to win great prizes in multiple age categories, as well as a People’s Choice winner, and a random drawing.
“Prizes include Key West Express tickets, Salty Sam’s boat rentals, Pieces of Eight Pirate Cruise tickets, gift cards to Parrot Key and more,” Justin said. “And, when the show comes to an end, it’s the perfect time to walk over to Big Game, where the Reggae Party will just be starting up.”
There is no fee to enter the show – or enter your car, so feel free to take that little cutie out of the garage for a spin. For more info on the upcoming show, call 463-3257.
Other shows in the works
Of course, Parrot Key will continue to host its monthly Caribbean Cruisin’ Car Shows, which take place on the first Monday of the month, from 5 to 8 p.m., complete with live music and prizes and giveaways.
During this show, you can see anything from old Model Ts to Studebakers, GTOs, hot rods and everything in between.
Justin said he also plans to start hosting an Exotic Car Show beginning in May.
Ferraris, Lamborghinis, Bugattis, Aston Martins, Paganis, along with rare Audis, BMWs, Porsches and Mercedes, you don’t know what supercar you’ll see at these shows.
And, still a rough gem in the works, the establishment also plans to host a truck show in the future, featuring customized trucks of all types, from multiple truck clubs around town.
“It’ll be a great time,” Justin said. “It’s always a great time down here.”
