n Wednesday, Feb. 25th – Cocohatchee River/Wiggins Pass Estuary Kayak Tour with GAEA Guides – Guided Kayak Nature Tours 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Tour leaves from Cocohatchee River Park, 13531 Vanderbilt Dr. in North Naples. This is a beautiful estuary area, with many birds, dolphins, manatees and other critters. $40 per person – reservations needed 239-694-5513.

n Thursday, Feb. 26th – 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. – Archeological Kayak Tour to Useppa Island – Meet at Calusa Heritage Trail, 13810 Waterfront Dr., Pineland, Pine Island. A special kayak tour to this unusual, private island. Your guide is a Florida Master Naturalist that knows the ins and outs of the route through the grass flats and mangrove islands of Pine Island Sound and the history of the area. We will visit Useppa Island’s museum which details 10,000 years of human habitation on Useppa. This island has a fascinating history, both ancient and modern. We will eat lunch at the historic Collier Inn and get to see the beautiful flora and interesting fauna of the island. $65 per person (includes entry fee to the museum), plus the cost of lunch. n Friday, Feb. 27th – Sunset/Bird Rookery Kayak Tour on the Caloosahatchee River with GAEA Guides – Guided Kayak Nature Tours. 3:30 to 6:30 p.m. From Royal Palm Park, 299 Royal Palm Park Rd. This is a beautiful, undisturbed freshwater creek with many cypress and large oak trees, lots of fish and birds feed from this creek.
