Happenings at the Fort Myers Power Squadron

The Fort Myers Power Squadron has had a busy end of 2009 and an exciting start of 2010. The group saw its new Bridge officers installed at the Royal Palm Yacht Club in early January, and enjoyed a squadron lunch at the Sundown Tiki in the middle of the month. On Jan. 28, the group combined with the Fort Myers Beach Yacht Club and 13 boats to set course for Tarpon Point. After lots of fun and good times, they headed back to home ports three days later. On Saturday, Feb. 13, the group will set its courses and once again shove off for four days of sun and fun on Captiva Island at the beautiful resort of Tween Waters. Mixed in with all the boating fun is a full slate of educational classes. There are piloting classes every Monday in February, along with various other classes – all open and free to the public. Just call for times and reservations. Also there is a dinner meeting the first Thursday of every month and everyone is welcome to come check them out. If you live in paradise, why not enjoy it to its fullest? For information on boat cruises, classes and dinners, or to inrom on renting the building, which is available for special occasions and seats 100-plus with a large parking area, call 368-9734.
