Foreclosure and bankruptcy clinics

The clinics will be held at Florida Rural Legal Services, located at 3210 Cleveland Ave. (suite 1) in Fort Myers, at 6 p.m. on the following Thursdays: Feb. 11 and Feb. 25; March 11 and March 25; April 8 and April 22; May 13 and May 27; and June 10 and June 24. Although there are no fees, attendees must call 211 to register or contact Ethel Wells, Florida Rural Legal Services pro bono coordinator at 334-4554, (ext. 4119) for a brief eligibility screening.

Fort Myers Power Squadron classes and dinner

The Fort Myers Power Squadron holds piloting classes every Monday in February, along with various other classes – all open and free to the public. Just call for times and reservations. Also there is a dinner meeting the first Thursday of every month and everyone is welcome to come check them out. If you live in paradise, why not enjoy it to its fullest? Mahjong club shows some tiles

Mahjong club shows some tiles The Purple Dragon Mahjong Club that plays at the Island Plaza Shopping Center, 15675-1 McGregor Blvd., Fort Myers, is having the following events open to the public. Beginner mahjong classes to learn this ancient Chinese game will be held on Monday and Thursday afternoons, from 1 to 3 p.m.The cost is $15 per class.   Refresher classes. If you have been playing for a little while and want to improve your level of play or learn some strategies and skills, this is the class for you. They are be held Monday and Thursday afternoons, 1 to 3 p.m. The cost is $15 per class.   Mahjong tournament. For the mahjong player who enjoys competition and challenge and would like to play mah jongg with people from all over Florida, join the group for the mahjong weekend tournament Jan. 23, 24, and 25. Public invited to Shell Point open house

Shell Point Retirement Community will open its doors to offer visitors a glimpse into the daily life of a Shell Point resident during the “Shell Point Showcase” Open House on Thursday, Feb. 11, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. This event is free and open to the public. Zumba Gold classes at Bay Oaks

Bay Oaks Recreation Campus will be offering a Zumba Gold class every Thursday night at 6:30 p.m., designed for the active adult population or the true beginner (unconditioned) participant. Zumba Gold addresses the anatomical, physiological and psychological needs specific to these populations. Barbara Groves, a certified Zumba instructor, will be instructing the class, which is $5 per session and will be offered every Thursday except for holidays.
